Where the money goes

Established in 2009 by a group of young Latvian professionals working in London, Giving for Latvia provides aid to children and parents who have suffered from emotional and physical abuse, and to those disadvantaged by age, disability, financial problems and other hardships. Over the decade it has worked with around 100 charities in Latvia, from crisis centres to special-needs and parenting charities, providing grants, donations in kind and free modern parenting books. All activities are arranged by unpaid volunteers and patrons, and 100% of donations go to the beneficiaries.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is London Baltic Tech Hub?

An in-person event series and community connecting the tech scenes of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania with the UK. Each night mixes a couple of short talks with plenty of open conversation, so you leave with useful contacts and a clearer picture of how to build between the Baltics and London.

Why does it exist?

The Baltics produce far more strong tech companies per head than most of Europe, and London is where many of them look for customers, capital, partners and talent. Yet the people who could help each other rarely end up in the same room. We wanted a regular, low-key place where Baltic founders, professionals and UK-side friends of the region meet, compare notes and open doors for one another.

Who is it for?

Founders, engineers, product, marketing and operations people, investors and anyone building or backing technology with a Baltic connection. Later events will be open across the three countries and to UK-based people who work with the region. You do not need to be technical; curiosity and a connection to the Baltics are enough.

Who can come to the first event on 15 October?

The first night is a Latvian one: the AI Club meet-up organised by Latvian Professionals in London, held in Latvian, for Latvian professionals living and working in London. Estonian and Lithuanian nights, and mixed Baltic events, follow soon after. Sign up for updates and we will tell you first.

How much does it cost?

Tickets for the 15 October AI Club meet-up are £35, booked and paid through Eventbrite. The full amount is donated to Giving for Latvia, a UK registered charity (no. 1161932), towards a project for Latvian charities, and you can give extra via the fundraiser link if you wish. Refreshments and snacks are provided.

Where and when?

Our first night is on Thursday 15 October 2026 at Southbank Tower, 55 Upper Ground, London SE1 9EY, 7:00pm to 9:30pm. We plan to meet roughly monthly.

What happens after I book?

Eventbrite emails your ticket and confirmation straight away, and a reminder before the event. Places are limited, so if the event sells out you can join the waitlist on Eventbrite and we will let you know as soon as a spot opens up. For free events booked directly on this site, we email the confirmation ourselves.

Will there be sales pitches?

No. Speakers share what they have learned, not what they are selling. If you would like to talk about your own company, the open floor and the networking afterwards are the place for it.

Can I speak at a future event?

We would love to hear from you. Email us with a couple of lines on what you would talk about. We especially welcome founders with a real story about building between the Baltics and the UK.

What do you do with my data?

We store your name, email and (optionally) company so we can manage your RSVP and contact you about the event. We only send you news about future events if you tick the box. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details at any time; see our privacy policy.
